Jane A. Nickles, CSW, has been the wine educator at the Texas Culinary Academy for twelve years, teaching introductory and advanced wine classes as part of the overall culinary and pastry arts curricula at both the Certificate and Associate Degree Levels.

"Miss Jane", as her students call her, is also the author of “WineSpeak 101,” regular wine columnist for Eat and Drink Austin Magazine, and wine writer for the website "The Texas Wine and Food Gourmet". Jane has recently been honored by being named the Career Education Corporation “Educator of the Year” in December of 2007, from a field of over 90 colleges and 6,000 faculty members, and in February of 2009 was awarded the title of “The Nation’s Ultimate Culinary Educator” after winning a live teaching contest sponsored by the Foodservice Educator’s Learning Community in Charleston, South Carolina.

Texas Fall Fest & Texas Wine Auction has a two-fold purpose: to expose the public to the merits and importance of Texas wine and food by spotlighting the best wines, foods, chefs and restaurants in our state and to raise funds for much needed Texas wine research as well as for other worthy healthcare needs.
